Richard Hilderbrand is a father, grandfather, small businessman, and experienced community leader. Married to his wife Marisa, they have four children and five grandchildren. Richard grew up in southeast Kansas and launched his own insurance business in 2001. He ran for Cherokee County Commissioner in 2010, serving in that role for seven years. For 5 of those 7 years, he was Chairman of the Commission. In 2017, when Jake LaTurner was appointed State Treasurer, Richard was elected by Republican Precinct Committee leaders to serve a partial term until the General Election in 2018.
